And then... they leave. ❤️He was only with us for a couple of days.But that was more than enough time for all of us to love him.From the youngest to the oldest.We love easily in this home.We welcome.We hug.We care.We share.We make space.We don't really know how to put conditions on love.Because we're learning what it looks like to love like Jesus — unconditionally, generously, without asking how long someone is going to stay before deciding how much they are worth loving.And I love these children like my own.We don't love halfway because we know they might leave.We love hard.We love fully.We love like they could be here forever — even when we know they might only be here for a little while.Because their time with us shouldn't determine how much love they receive.So when one leaves, it hurts.The tears have already flowed for some of us.The others haven't even seen yet that he has left (although we did prepare them this morning that he might not).And I know there may be some big feelings when they realise this afternoon that their new friend isn't coming back through the gate.So we'll have the gum.Or an ice lolly. 🍭Something small to help those little bodies regulate while their hearts catch up with what has happened.Because that's part of loving too.Helping each other through the sadness.And today, I think we'll all love a little harder.We'll hug a little longer.We'll sit a little closer.Because we have one another.And because, as hard as it is to say goodbye, we are incredibly grateful that for those few days, we could give another child something every child deserves:A safe home.A full tummy.A place to belong.People who cared.And people who loved him.Not every child has a safe home to go to.Not every child has people waiting at the gate.Not every child has a table where there is always room for one more.And maybe that's why we keep saying yes when we can.Because love makes room.Even when it's temporary.Even when it hurts.Even when tears follow.We love easily.And I hope that's one of the things my children carry with them — that no matter how long someone is in our home, they are worthy of being loved well while they are here.Just like Jesus loves us. ❤️#HopeFilledHome #FosterCareJourney #FosterCareSouthAfrica #LoveLikeJesus #LoveMakesRoom #UnconditionalLove #EveryChildMatters #SafeHomes #FosterCareAwareness #ItTakesAVillage #MakingRoom #CalledToCare #LoveWell

Ons pragtige kinders is die mees 'resilient' optimistieste, hardwerkendste, mees ergieke kinders wat ons ken! En as ek dit sê bedoel ek x 8, 9 en 10. Ons as grootmense kyk en sien hoe ons kinders elke dag die lewe aanvat, hetsy dit grootmens-lewe, Eistedfodd, sport, huiswerk en sosiale lewe is. If you or your company require a SARS 18A Tax Certificate for cash donations or goods sponsored please send the following required information to jean@forthechildren.co.za:
A. For Personal donations:
– Full name(s) and surname as on South African Identity Document
– South African ID (Identity document) number.
– Type of ID document (e.g. SA ID)
– Current Physical Home Address.
– Contact number
– Email address
– Income Tax Registration number (if available)
B. Company donations:
– Registered name of Company
– Company registration number
– Company Trading name if different
– Physical address of Company headquarters.
– Contact Number
– Email address
– Income Tax Registration number (if available)
The Amount donated and the date it was paid into (and cleared) our npo account.
The general rule of thumb regarding 18A certificates is that you can donate up to 10% of your yearly taxable income to a Public Benefit Organization like ourselves and deduct it from your yearly tax obligations to SARS.
If you donate goods/gift cards (Checkers, Pick & Pay, etc.), please provide the invoice stating the value of the goods.
