We all need support through the most important period of our children: the early years

A child’s safety & security is a positive way to impact a child’s future by connecting with vulnerable children who desperately need someone to speak for them.

Our story

We moved to Langebaan in 2017 from Gauteng. A few months after arriving in Langebaan, we, alongside a few other ladies from our community, started a soup kitchen for children, supplying lunch, twice a week. Very soon our lives were filled with our whole community’s beautiful children, and it was joyous, uplifting, grateful and fulfilling.

Jean met the previous Director of the Department of Social Development, Western Cape, at a function one day – who told him to schedule a meeting with her, at which meeting, she proposed to us to open a safe-house for children.

After almost 2 years of marriage, Jean and I went for medical tests to try and understand why we were struggling to conceive. A few days later we received the devastating news that Jean will never be able to have children. We were shattered, I cried for days, and I fought with God, trying to make sense of it all, as we both really worked so hard individually to restore our lives, after years of addiction – not realizing then that God already had a plan for us…

2 Days later, we received a call asking if we would be willing to look after a little 2 and half year-old girl, just for the weekend. This same weekend, Jean was on his way to an Angus Buchan Revival in Bloemfontein, just after I dropped him at Beacon Church at the bus, I got the call. I dropped Jean, went to where I was supposed to pick up the little child, broke down in tears and could not understand what was happening at that exact moment and why a little child would be in a situation like that. On my way home, I called my husband to tell him about THE CALL. That is what I call it – THE CALL… each and every time we receive such a call.

The little girl was placed in our care, police clearances were done etc. 6 Months later, we received another call, this time with regards to a 6-year-old girl. At this point in time, we realized that God had a different will and mission for our lives. It was confirmed and supported by DSD at that time

At this point, we knew we had to find a bigger, perfect premises, suitable for more children, which would be safe, therapeutic, and where we can have a lot of animals. We found the perfect place, at our first viewing.

Since then, God has blessed us with 9 beautiful children, from all backgrounds, all races – and we have never looked back. We have seen the Hand of God move in our and our children’s lives. It has not always been easy, but God has always supplied in ways we could never had imagined.

Thank you, JESUS, and may HE receive all the glory.

“When a child comes to us, usually sad and uncertain, our hearts sink with them, but when the child smiles for the first time, we all smile… and when the child laughs from out of the tummy… the world cries (for joy). Nothing beats the sound of children laughing!” –

Inclusive

Celebrating diversity requires thoughtful inclusion. Everyone must be recognized and appreciated for their talents, be provided with opportunities to get involved, and have their perspectives valued and heard.

Responsible

A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the 'why' for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any 'how.'

Respectful

“How would your life be different if…You stopped making negative judgmental assumptions about people you encounter? Let today be the day…You look for the good in everyone you meet and respect their journey.”

Collaborative

Collaboration is a key part of the success of any organization, executed through a clearly defined vision and mission and based on transparency and constant communication.

Our Vision:-

Our vision is to assist in developing physically and psychologically healthy community youth that can grow to be self-sustainable, and that will be empowered to, in return, create strong future communities.

This goal can only be achieved by providing the necessary love, nutritional, psychological, educational, and family support to those members of the community that endure the hardship and pain of being disadvantaged in enjoying these fundamental human rights.

A robust and happy youth can only grow if they have the necessary support from a healthy family.

Our Mission:-

Our mission is to, as far as possible, eradicate hunger, psychological and physical abuse in the family environment. It will be achieved by supporting and uplifting members of our immediate community, with a specific focus on providing a safe house for children, food support to anyone who may need our services and helping elderly citizens.

More than just a joyful place

Nothing beats the sound of children laughing!!!
